BRCGS Overview
The BRCGS Global Standard for Packaging has been developed to specify the product safety, quality and operational criteria that must be in place within a packaging manufacturing organisation in order for it to fulfil its obligations with regard to legal compliance and protection of the consumer.
The format is designed to allow a company’s premises, operational systems and procedures to be assessed against the requirements of the Standard by a competent third party – the certification body.

The BRCGS certification is an internationally recognised benchmark and is awarded to those companies demonstrating compliance in hazard and risk management, hygiene, product safety and quality. Here at Meridian, we maintain compliance with the requirements of BRCGS Packaging Materials, Issue 6 Standards and Regulations.
Meridian has held a BRCGS accreditation since 2008, ensuring we have been supplying the highest quality food-safe packaging for the last 15 years. In June 2024, we were awarded Grade ‘AA’ certification. This certification highlights and showcases our meticulous attention to detail and the high standards of production of which everyone at Meridian is immensely proud.
